My Real Estate "Office"

I know you all are dying to see my "office" at the real estate agency. :) Well, here it is. As you can see, it's really just a desk in a room with other desks. I share the office with 3 other girls. We are all real estate agent assistants. I work there anywhere from 1-5 days a week. Just depends on what is going on that week. Real estate in Michigan is not exactly moving fast these days!

Kristin's Birthday Dinner

We celebrated Kristin's birthday a few days early since she will be out of town on her actual birthday. We went to our favorite Mexican place - Sagebrush Cantina in Fenton! No one wanted their picture taken as you can tell. After dinner we couldn't help but stop at The French Laundry for some yummy coffee! (We love that place too!)

My Little House

I spent all day Saturday cleaning my house. I had let it get really out of hand, so things were looking pretty bad. Recently our tv quit working in the family room. We used to spend all of our time in the family room - probably because that is where the tv was. Our living room was rarely used - except for reading or playing the piano. Now that the tv is gone (and we probably won't replace it for awhile), we have all been hanging out in the living room a lot more. I like my little living room. I still have things I'd like to do to it still - like it needs curtains badly! I would also like a nice rug and I also need new tables. The ones I have are so old and beat up. With the tables, then I'll also need some lamps. I don't know if I'll ever get those things - but here is a picture of my nice, clean living room. It is a very peaceful, relaxing place to hang out.

A Visit to the Holocaust Memorial

On Sunday Kristin and I were able to visit the Holocaust Memorial in West Bloomfield. This is something that we've talked about doing for some time, but never had the chance to get over there. One of the problems is that they are not open in the evenings and they are closed on Saturdays. So Sundays are really the only day that a working person can visit. They have an impressive new building located on Orchard Lake Road. We decided to get there in time for a guided tour. The guide went over the highlights of the museum with us and encouraged us to go back through on our own so that we could read and see everything they have. I learned a lot of new things, but also saw images that will stay in my mind forever. They have one section of the museum called The Abyss. They showed actual filmstrip footage that was taken when the prisoners were released. I walked away from there with the biggest burning lump in my throat. It was heartwrenching. The highlight of the tour was the end. An actual survivor talked to us for 30 minutes about her experience. This was a woman in her 80's that was taken as a child from her home. She was the only one to survive. I highly recommend everyone to visit the Memorial. It is free and well worth your time and effort to go.

Our Yard

Tim does a really good job keeping the lawn looking nice. I love our yard in the summer. It looks like a park. Don't you agree?
